Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies exclusively to the Filesflix Android application published on the Google Play Store (package: com.filesflix.app). It is written to comply with Google Play's User Data policy and the Data Safety requirements.

1. Who We Are

Filesflix is operated as an independent app. For any privacy-related inquiries, you may contact us at the details provided in the Contact section of this policy.

We are the sole data controller for all personal data collected through the Filesflix Android app. We do not sell your data to any third party.

2. Data We Collect

The Filesflix Android app collects the following data automatically when you use the app. No account registration or login is required.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • App Functionality: Device ID and locale are used to serve personalised wallpaper recommendations and remember your profile settings.
  • Analytics: Aggregated, non-identifiable data (device model, OS version, session counts) helps us understand how the app is used and prioritise improvements.
  • Crash Diagnostics: Error logs are used solely to identify bugs and improve stability. They are not used for advertising or profiling.
  • Advertising Support: We use the Google AdMob SDK to display advertisements. AdMob may use your device's Advertising ID to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance.
  • No Third-Party Selling: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third party.

4. Data Sharing

Data sent to our servers is transmitted to filesflix.com, hosted infrastructure operated by us. We do not share your personal data with third-party companies except as strictly necessary to operate the service (e.g., hosting providers) and only under binding confidentiality agreements.

The only third-party component that may access your network is Google Fonts, which downloads font files from fonts.googleapis.com when the app first renders. Google's own privacy policy applies to that interaction.

5. Permissions We Request

6. Data Security

  • In Transit: All data sent between the app and our server uses HTTPS (TLS encryption). No data is transmitted over plain HTTP.
  • At Rest: Data stored on your device uses Android's SharedPreferences, which is stored in the app's sandboxed private storage. It is not accessible to other apps.
  • Server: Our servers at filesflix.com implement standard security practices.

7. Data Retention

Analytics and diagnostic data sent to our servers is retained for a maximum of 12 months, after which it is automatically deleted or anonymised.

All locally stored data (favourites, downloads, search history, preferences) remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, or use the "Delete My Data" option in Settings.

8. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You have the right to access, correct, and delete your data at any time.

Delete Local Data

Go to Settings → Delete My Data within the app. This will immediately erase all locally stored favourites, downloads, search history, interest data, and profile information from your device.

Delete Server-Side Data

To request deletion of any data associated with your Device ID from our servers, contact us at the email address in Section 10. We will process your request within 30 days.

Uninstall

Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. To also remove server-side data, please submit a deletion request to us.

9. Children's Privacy

The Filesflix app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice.
